Elephant at Lake Paradise 1923 - NL1152.3
The Johnsons were surrounded by magnificent elephant herds during their stay at Lake Paradise and this photograph was one of Martin's best. Martin made films and many still photographs of elephants. A choice selection of these photographs are preserved in various museums around the world but a nitrate fire in Martin's lab unfortunately destroyed the majority of the motion film footage he had planned to use for an "elephant special."
