Martin Johnson filming Meru Woman 1923 - J341
The Johnsons' employed hundreds of Meru men as porters to convoy their filming equipment and assorted building supplies to Lake Paradise. In addition to filming the men at work, Martin made a wonderful series of portraits of their wives and families as they broke camp at their villages and outposts along the route north.
